Biography

Mara A. Mooney, J.D., is a Professor of Legal Studies in Clayton State’s College of Arts & Sciences, where her teaching focuses on law and ethics; contracts and torts; real property law; legal research and writing; American government; courts; and legal issues in homeland security and emergency management. Prior to joining the faculty at Clayton State, she practiced commercial real estate law with Alston & Bird, LLP, in Atlanta, and federal administrative law in Washington, D.C. She was also a law clerk for the Honorable Dorothy T. Beasley in the Georgia Court of Appeals, and an intern at the U.S. Department of Justice, Northern District of Georgia. In law school, Ms. Mooney was a notes and comments editor of law review and a Dean’s Fellow.
