Biography

I have held administrative and faculty roles at six colleges and universities. My focus has always been on helping students to be successful. To further that goal I have been an member and officer fora number of professional organizations, including president of the National College Learning Center Association. I have developed three first year student courses and two learning community programs, and been intimately involved with starting or supporting community engagement programs. I have also worked in or played a supervisory role for learning center programs. I have provided oversight of academic advising programs. I have provided mentoring, training, and consulting programs to other professionals. I had a special interest and experience working with students with learning disabilities. I chaired numerous university-wide and departmental committees and served on a number of USG committees. I was often involved in committees that sought to increase retention, improve curriculum, develop new programs, or hire new faculty members. I have published a few articles, book chapters and published non-refereed work.
