Biography
Dr. Chris Edwards serves as a Lecturer of Management in the College of Business at Clayton State University.
Before transitioning into academia, Dr. Edwards built a 24-year career in the construction aggregates industry, during which he held progressive leadership roles, including Multi-Site Operations Manager. He brings extensive expertise in operations management, quality control, process improvement, and leadership development.
Dr. Edwards is a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM). His academic background includes a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA), with research focused on the impact of transformational leadership on job turnover intention in plant operations. His current research interests include leadership effectiveness, psychological safety, employee retention, and workplace resilience.
Drawing from his real-world leadership experience, Dr. Edwards integrates practical insights into his teaching to bridge theory and application for both undergraduate and graduate students.
