Biography
Dr. Stinson received his B.S. in Mathematics and Music from Alabama A&M University in Huntsville, Alabama. He continued his education and received  his M.S., Ed.Specialist in Mathematics Education and Ph.D. in Teaching and Learning (Mathematics education concentration) from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Stinson is the Secondary Coordinator for pre-service mathematics teachers.  Dr. Stinson teaches elementary statistics, mathematical modeling, college algebra, trigonometry, precalculus, modern geometry, mathematical problem solving and methods of teaching secondary mathematics.  He is presently in his 39th year of teaching mathematics: 30 years in Dekalb County and 9 years here at Clayton State University. While teaching in Dekalb County, Dr. Stinson was the Dekalb County System-wide Teacher of the Year in 2006 and was among the Top Ten Teachers of the Year for the State of Georgia in 2007.

Dr. Stinson's research interests are:
1. Teaching practices in the mathematics classroom.
2.  African American male enrollment in mathematics teacher education programs.    
3. Mathematics for all.
