Biography

I joined Clayton State in 2001, and am a Professor of Psychology. My original training was in physiological psychology but since coming to Clayton State have focused on pedagogy and pop culture.

Over the years I have taught a WIDE variety of classes, including Introduction to General Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Applied Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Physiological Psychology (both at the undergraduate and graduate level), and Cognitive Neuroscience.

In recent years I've been more involved in writing case study exercises, problem-based learning activities, and most recently chapters relating the brain to pop culture. Recent work includes explorations into the relationships between 90s Alternative music and Generation X's attitudes toward mental health; memory as seen through the Flanagan Netflix series, death and aging in Doctor Who, and the psychology of found footage films.
