Biography
Dr. Dyer grew up in a military family and moved around a lot throughout her childhood, but spent her high school years in Pensacola, Florida.  She obtained her B.S. in Chemistry from Shippensburg University in 1999 and her Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Florida in 2007.  Her graduate research was focused on designing electrochromic and light-emitting displays utilizing conjugated polymers and transition metal complexes.  She was a research scientist at Georgia Tech until 2014 when she began her teaching career at Clayton State.

 Teaching Interest
Dr. Dyer teaches General Chemistry for science and non-science majors, Analytical Chemistry, Instrumental Chemistry, and elective courses that include Polymer Chemistry, Chemistry of Color, and Environmental Chemistry.  
 Research Interest
Dr. Dyer's research interests involve the utilization of peer support (Learning Assistants) in lecture and laboratory classrooms.  She's also involved in developing undergraduate research opportunities in the freshman teaching lab courses.
Her laboratory research interests involve characterization of the water quality of local streams.
