Biography
Amy King Black is an active musician in the Atlanta area and has performed with groups such as Atlanta Pops, Atlanta Lyric Theatre, Carroll Symphony Orchestra, Atlanta Ballet Orchestra, Atlanta Master Chorale, Georgia Symphony Orchestra, Greenville Symphony Orchestra, and Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. She has played for numerous conferences and festivals, including PIccolo Spoleto in Charleston, South Carolina, College Band Directors National Association Conference, Southeast Horn Workshop, and Georgia American Choral Directors Association Summer Workshop. Concert tours have included trips to many US cities, Italy, Germany, the Czech Republic, and most recently, Vietnam.
Currently, Amy teaches music appreciation, music history, and brass methods courses at Clayton State University. Amy maintains a studio of twenty private horn students and frequently conducts masterclasses and clinics for high school and middle school students throughout the region. She has served on the summer music faculties of the Atlanta Chamber Music Festival and Atlanta Music Project's Summer Series. In 2018, Amy was a co-presenter for a lecture/recital on horn trios at Southeast Horn Workshop.
