Biography

A specialist of contemporary music, French flutist, Matthieu Clavé, is the Artistic Director of The Soundscape Series, à series of concerts that promote music by underrepresented composers and mainstream composers. He is an active musician of Bent Frequency, the Atlanta Contemporary Ensemble, and Chamber Cartel based in Atlanta, Georgia. He has played extensively across the United States and in Europe, and premiered music by Philippe Hurel, Kenji Sakkai, Anthony Donofrio… As an orchestra musician, Matthieu Clavé regularly performs with the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra, the Rome Symphony Orchestra, and the Columbus Symphony Orchestra. He holds a Master’s degree in Music Performance from Florida State University, Tallahassee, Florida, a Master’s in Music Performance and Education from the École Normale de Musique de Paris, France and an Artist Diploma from the Music Conservatory of Ville d’Avray, France. Matthieu Clavé lives in Atlanta, GA, with his wife and their two sons.
